SHORT FILM COMPETITION

The popular short film competition will again be held at the 2nd Vientianale International Film Festival. Some of the short films from the last Vientianale were presented in other international film festivals and even won prizes. Could it be you this time?

Your submitted short film should be based on the theme: “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”. Anyone can enter* the competition regardless of your background or filmmaking experience. All approved entries to the 2nd Vientianale will be shown at the Festival where you could win the following prizes:

Jury prizes:

▪ 1st prize $US800

▪ 2nd prize $US500

▪ 3rd prize $US200

Plus audience prizes

All films entered into the Short Film Award must observe the following rules:  

1. The films should be no more than 11 minutes (including title and end credits)

2. The film must be based on the theme: “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”.

3. The filmmaker(s) must live in Lao PDR.

4. Films must be delivered on DVD format with an official entry form no later than 18th March 2011. See contact section for delivery address.

NB: You are more than welcome to submit a short film into the open entry submission even if it does not follow the above rules but note that you will not be eligible for the prizes.

*The Vientianale Organising Committee reserves the right to reject a film if it is judged not to meet the above criteria or if the content is deemed inappropriate.
