RISING STAR COMPETITION

Do you have a mobile phone? Do you have a story to tell?

Are you younger than 16 years of age?

Well, if you answered yes to all three questions then you may be eligible to participate in our new and exciting competition. This competition will provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to show everyone your talent regardless of your background or filmmaking experience.

Your submitted entry will be filmed on a mobile phone and based on the theme: “We are the future”. All approved entries will be shown at the Festival where you will have the chance to win some very cool prizes such as mobile phones, digital music players, books and more. 

Your submitted film must observe the following rules*:

1. The films should be no more than 2 minutes (including title and credits)

2. The film must be based on the theme: “We are the Future!”

3. The film must be shot on a mobile phone

4. The filmmaker(s) must live in Lao PDR

5. The filmmaker(s) must be younger than 16 years of age

6. Films must be delivered on DVD format with an official entry form no later than 18th of March 2011. See Contact section for delivery address.

The themes for the competition can be interpreted in any way you choose, so please be creative!

*Make sure you get your parent/guardian's permission before you enter the competition. The Vientianale Organising Committee reserves the right to reject a film if it is judged not to meet the above criteria or if the content is deemed inappropriate.
